All to often people believe that by mixing common products together, will make cleaning easier or faster. When directed at products like chlorine and the products of strong acidic or basic type of results can be disastrous.
What happens in this situation is a toxic gas occurs when users have decided to use a mixture of two or more cleaning products for everyday use. When used household bleach (a solution of sodium hypochlorite) combines with a substance that produces an acid toilet bowl cleaner or vinegar, there is a sudden release of an amount of gas chlrine. Similarly, if chlorine is mixed with ammonia, lye or other alkaline substance, the action can release a highly irritating gas.
If inhaled, the gas in both cases can cause serious injury or death. Accidents of this kind took place not only the kitchen and bathroom, but also in cleaning and treating water in swimming pools.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that because some household products are good and useful, the combination of two or more of them will do a better job of one. Very often, the mixture is unnecessary and superfluous because combined they will not make the job easier cleaning, or perform better, and sometimes a combination of them can be disastrous. Follow safety rules – the use of chemical cleaners, as the manufacturer directs on labels, and take into account some scouring (abrasive) powders now contain chlorine.
Not recommend using a hypochlorite solution (chlorine) bleach in toilets, sinks or baths, or appliances, as may happen in times of pain, a dull or rough thin, smooth porcelain surface.
Dont Mix abrasive powder bleach containing chlorine or chlorine with:
* Bowls bleach cleaners Vinegar * * * * * Spot Remover Oven Cleaner ammonia
For Chemical Safety 1. Know what you are using chemicals 2. Always read the label 3. Measure all chemicals as instructed 4. No substitute chemicals 5. Never mix one type of chemistry with the other 6. Do not rely on the smell of chemicals as a means of identification 7. If the solution used is a strong acid or alkali, protect yourself with goggles, rubber gloves and suitable protective clothing 8. Always place the lid of the bottle or lid before the container leaves your hand. 9. No harsh chemicals stored on shelves above 10. Time and understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) on all chemicals that are used 11. Keep all flammable or combustible products in metal containers
Note: If you welcome any cleaning product in eyes, rinse eyes with cool water for 15 to 20 minutes
